THE BEGINNING
OF LOVENET
LOVENET’s story was born from a dream, one of those that remain engraved in the soul and never cease to inspire until it becomes a reality.
As a little girl, our founder dreamed of changing the world. It took many years for it all to eventually align. On her entrepreneurial path, her timeline crossed to work for a U.S.-based company called Xango. This company had a foundation with an outstanding social program and she got interested in their cause. Eventually her focus shifted more towards the Xango Goodness Foundation programs. These programs consisted in helping to eradicate hunger in the world with nutritional packages called Meal Packs. The results were astonishing. Not only had they reached 20 countries with this product to help vulnerable children and families, but they had delivered seven million Meal Packs, contributing to nutrition and quality of life around the world with their incredible formula.
These results were inspiring for our founder, who saw the enormous potential that this formula would have in Colombia due to the high rates of malnutrition in different regions. She created a proposal to bring the Meal Packs to Colombia and presented it to the founders of Xango who studied the initiative. The challenge was not easy, but the project was accepted and won an international humanitarian award in Las Vegas. Later, LOVENET was founded in Colombia to continue with the Meal Packs program.
Our founder arrived in La Guajira in northern Colombia, determined to find places and communities willing to enter the Meal Packs nutrition program. It was not an easy task.
The Wayúu communities of La Guajira do not speak Spanish and for the most part are very closed in their dealings with the “Alijunas”, as they call non-indigenous people.
While there, she needed to request permission from the authorities (leaders) of each community so that the nutrition program could be carried out and faced the skepticism of almost all the people in the communities. After spending a few days with them and opening her heart, a Wyunaiiki interpreter helped her explain the process and the outstanding results that this formula had had around the world. Finally she was given approval to work in the field in three communities in the municipality of Manaure in La Guajira.
This experience allowed her to see in person areas devastated by neglect and indifference, and she returned to Bogotá determined to get the necessary funds to produce the Meal Pack in Colombia. It was a long process of fundraising, but in the end, Lovenet was able to raise the amount needed to start production. Months later, the first volunteers traveled to La Guajira, delivering with the first group of volunteers a ton and a half of Meal Packs, as well as tableware, kitchen utensils and water tank cars.
Since this first delivery, we have been taking our donations to the communities we work with for six uninterrupted years. We bring Meal packs, school kits, water, basic necessities, clothes, shoes, Christmas gifts, among other items.
Lovenet has inspired hundreds of people and dozens of companies to become part of the solution with donations, contributions, collaborations and volunteering, achieving extraordinary results. We believe we have a responsibility to give back. We are all part of a big network that grows when we decide to spread love, contribute and share to transform the world around us.
We know that there are millions of people willing to help, but many of them don’t know how. We want to be a possibility for them to experience service and feel involved in changing the world through acts of kindness. Our volunteers participate in a non-profit foundation that is transparent, proactive, with evident results. We want to help build a world we can all be proud of.
